Early Sunday morning, a 6.​0​ magnitude earthquake struck close to home. The epicenter was approximately 40 miles Northeast of our global headquarters in San Francisco and was felt throughout Northern California.

Under the backdrop of a giant painted t-shirt with the words “Make Great Together,” Eric Cesal, our new Executive Director, presented at Threadless headquarters in Chicago, Illinois. Threadless, an online t-shirt company known for its innovative artistic designs and community process, welcomed the Architecture for Humanity team with open arms.

Yesterday, 7 August 2014, we celebrated the opening of the run-down cul-de-sac turned community park with representatives from the Lincoln Motor CompanyArchitectural Digest, the Portola Neighborhood Association, and the City of San Francisco along with many community volunteers, designers and contractors.

The final goal post is up on our Football for Hope program in Africa! As a social legacy initiative from the 2010 FIFA World Cup, we collaborated with FIFA and Streetfootballworld to build 19 community centers, all including football pitches, across 15 countries in Africa.
