The 2013 winner of the Pilosio’s International “Building the Peace” Award is Cameron Sinclair and Architecture for Humanity. The award is being given for the organizations numerous actions to support reconstruction in Haiti following the 2010 earthquake. To date Architecture for Humanity has helped build schools and clinics for more than 70,000 people and has helped to plan over 2500 homes.

The presentation of the award will take place as part of a dedicated event to be held on Wednesday, April 17th, at the Bauma trade fair in Munich, the leading international exhibition for the construction world.

The Building the Peace Award was launched in 2011 by Pilosio, an Italian company that produces scaffolding and form work for the construction sector throughout the world, with the aim of granting recognition to those who design and build in order to improve the lives of people throughout the entire planet, promoting conditions that create a peaceful atmosphere of tolerance and social cohesion between peoples. The ceremony to present the award takes place annually at a major event that brings together the sector’s major players, along with other leading figures, in order to create an opportunity to reflect on the ways in which the construction world can help the development of a modern civil society.
