It's a Birthday - Lucky 13

It's hard to believe our organization is thirteen years old today - harder still to believe we don't count our age in truckloads of coffee consumed. So we're either just entering the awkward teenage years, or are a centenarian - it usually feels like both.

We're expecting our adolescence to be epic. Our voice will crack. We'll have to buy new shoes every three months, only to rapidly fill them.

Our 20th Football for Hope Center, our third Open Architecture Challenge, our third reconstruction center (hint: go east), third LIVE! conference and second book are all coming out in Year 13, and we couldn't be more grateful to our 29 staff, 38 design fellows and hundreds of volunteers and community partners and of course every single generous donor for making Architecture for Humanity the world-class organization it is today.

Wherever you are today, help us raise a toast (for those fasting, get creative!) to the ones inspecting rebar, the ones proofing spreadsheets, those at their smartphones and GPS devices, those wrestling with quirky vending machines, unnerving City Hall procedures and broken mosquito nets - we're so very lucky to have them!

Cheers
