Last but not least, the Edendale Football for Hope Centre opened its doors on June 3rd 2014. This event commemorated four years of work on this project and the tremendous effort by the project team.

Whizzkids United , the organization running the center, organized a great event celebrating their community and the hard work they do -- using the power of sport to educate and influence behavioral changes to prevent the spread of HIV.

We would like to thank and congratulate the amazing project team including Design Fellows Luvuyo Mfungula, Rogerio Costa, Preshanta Vandeyar and George Kinuthia, and the team of local consultants who helped bring this building to life.

This event marks the last center to open its doors as a part of the Football for Hope program. After 7 years of involvement, Architecture for Humanity is wrapping up the amazing work in 15 African countries. We couldn’t be more proud to see every center door open and pitch in use. Stay tuned for more program highlights!
