Last weekend our headquarters team met up with our Los Angeles Chapter to bring Architecture for Humanity to this year's three-day Dwell on Design event in sunny southern California. Held in the LA Convention Center downtown, people flooded into a massive room filled with inspiring and innovative booths hosted by design and build leaders from around the world. It was a designer's Disneyland.

With our new Executive Director, Eric Cesal, in tow, we were there to tell the design and architecture community about the rededicated mission of Architecture for Humanity. An inspiring presentation from Eric on the Kohler Stage gave event-goers the opportunity to hear it directly from the newly appointed leader.

In addition to Eric's presentation, Project Coordinator Alix Ogilvie took the stage with leaders from Dwell Media, Resource Furniture and Georgia Institute of Technology College of Architecture to discuss the future of zero-energy and micro-housing. The presentation was guided by student designs from the Resource Furniture Micro-Interior Competition, featuring competition winner Madona Cumar, and her Empty Nesters Home Design.

The real stars of the three-day event were the amazing volunteers, architects, and chapter members who mobilized as proud and passionate representatives of Architecture for Humanity. Thanks to these good folks, our booth was consistently filled with people looking to learn about the potential for design to change the world. Our 'Architect is In' booth was a great success as local architects sat down with event-goers looking for advise from professionals.

Special thanks to Dwell Media and the Architecture for Humanity Los Angeles Chapter for pulling together a successful weekend of architecture and design.
