Program Background
This position will help our Civic Works studio staff with general program support and proposal writing for our programs with partners including Nike, FIFA, Happy Hearts, Enel, and others. This will include reporting, administration, research, graphic design, written correspondence, and more. Excellent communication skills are necessary. This position is ideal for an outgoing person but independent and proactive worker who has a passion for humanitarian design, and will be eager and able to jump in and work with different studio members as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with all studio members including staff, Design Fellows, volunteers, and fellow interns
  • Develop and write web and email updates. Combine reports and work with team to keep website and information up to date.
  • Develop and create compelling marketing and presentation materials that not only address partner and client needs, but also articulate Architecture for Humanity’s mission and philosophy
  • Proactively research, identify and develop proposals for new project opportunities relating to various studio programs, and support stewardship of existing relationships
  • Create articulate, efficient, and graphically successful documents of varying scopes and for various end uses
  • Additional skills required (Please only apply if you meet all requirements)

    • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, listening)
    • Excellent organizational skills
    • Basic quantitative and qualitative research skills
    • Self-directed with consistent follow-through
    • Good graphic design skills
    • Self-directed with consistent follow-through
    • Flexible, agile and ability to learn quickly
    • Highly proficient in word, Excel, and presentation applications such as PowerPoint or Keynote; Adobe Creative Suite preferred, Salesforce preferred
    • Design sensibilities, coupled with a keen sense of business acumen
    • Video-editing experience not required but a plus
    • Eagerness to help where help is most needed

    Commitment
    3 - 6 months (full-time; 35+ hours per week)
