On October 15-16, 2010 in New York City, Architecture for Humanity will be hosting Design Like You Give a Damn: LIVE!, an interactive workshop and forum on humanitarian design. You can discover lessons learned and the way forward in sustainable community development from experts and clients in the field. Also share your work with the public and meet Architecture for Humanity staff and Chapter members. You know how to design, this is your opportunity to learn how to build it.

The kick-off event and cocktail party is on Friday from 4:30-7pm, when the 2010 Curry Stone Design Prize finalists will present their projects. Come learn about pedal-powered farm machinery for use in rural Guatemala and transformative urban public housing in Chile. This is free and open to the public.

From 12-6pm on Saturday, panels on innovative financing models and monitoring and evaluation practices will be interspersed with one-on-one workshops and a Design Open Mic (you're invited to sign up). Don't forget the closing cocktail reception from 6-8pm. The cost of the event is $20 general admission, $15 for students and is free for Chapter members.
