Program Background
Since March of 2012 Architecture for Humanity has partnered with Enel Cuore Onlus on a program that will build capacity in communities affected by considerable poverty and social disadvantage. The program consists of 7 community infrastructure projects in 4 countries in Latin America and 3 countries in Europe, across both rural and urban areas. Through sustainable practices and community empowerment, this program will promote innovative development for local communities and build social infrastructure for the long term. The Latin America team seeks a member with design and construction knowledge, understanding of construction administration, strong graphic design skills, and an interest in grant research and writing, to assist us at the Bogotá field office.

Responsibilities
The Intern will support the work of the Program Coordinator in ways that include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Provide support to projects in Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Perú
  • Research lessons learned for construction techniques and which kind of sustainable evolution they can have in the projects of the Enel Cuore Program and AFH in general
  • Be part of the evolution on every project and support project team in all activities
  • Research techniques and learn about advantages/disadvantages of sustainable systems
  • Liaise with press and contribute to project updates and reporting
  • Investigate leads and assist in new program development
  • Additional skills required (Please only apply if you meet all requirements)

    • Creative, engaging and committed, with a good sense of humor
    • Reside in or willing to relocate to Bogotá
    • Proficiency in English and Spanish; Portuguese is a plus
    • Five or more years of professional experience; post professional academic degree is preferred
    • Strong presentation skills and experience developing exhibits
    • Experience in administrative support and membership outreach
    • Demonstrated ability for high-level research and writing
    • Very organized and meticulous
    • Proficiency with Adobe CS programs
    • Excellent graphic design skills
    • Advanced communication skills; ability to interact with partners via phone and email

    Commitment
    3 - 6 months (full-time; 35+ hours per week)
