First and foremost, I want to say thank you: this year, more than 16,000 students have walked into brand new, freshly painted, beautifully designed classrooms because of your support. Providing access to education has an extraordinary impact for entire communities – it helps to eradicate poverty, drive civic participation and promote gender equality.

Over the past year, we have taken great strides with our reconstruction efforts in the Philippines following the aftermath of Super Typhoon Haiyan on November 8, 2013.

September 11 marked the three-and-a-half year anniversary of the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami. Progress has been made in affected areas, where debris has been removed, infrastructure has been restored, and those in temporary housing have begun moving into more permanent housing solutions.
