San Francisco artist and architect Candace Silvey invites you to her opening at Andalu Restaurant (16th st @ Guerrero) in San Francisco! She will be showing traditional gelatin silver prints, polaroids, and color inkjet prints of the color squares.
The opening is taking place Monday, November 2nd. Food will be served starting at 5:30, half price drink specials start at 9. And the best part?! 10% of proceeds will be donated to Architecture for Humanity! So get out there and check it out!
Candace's work involves a fascination with plants and ecosystems. In delving deep into the lives of plants she came to realize that they wouldn't exist if it weren't for the collective impacts of bees. Our lives as we know it, our built environment, our food, the air we breathe, wouldn't exist if it weren't for the Apis mellifera, or honeybee. The entire show is dedicated to the efforts of the honeybee, and the people who care for them, the beekeepers. The symbiotic relationship between insect and human and natural world and built environment is reflected in her work.
