Design Charrette with Peru Design Fellow Diego Collazos - Special thanks to Kimberley O'Dowd, Project Manager with Architecture for Humanity, for setting up an exciting presentation and Charrette with our Design Fellow Diego Collazos (via Skype):
Architecture for Humanity, working together with the Happy Hearts Fund and ING Latin America, is designing and building a series of innovative schools in Central and South America. The projects take place in underprivileged communities that have been affected by natural disasters.
The first school, the Francisco Perez Acampa (Tate) school, is located in Ica, Peru where our Design Fellow, Diego Collazos has been located since July. The school, designed and planned without Architecture for Humanity, is scheduled to start construction soon, and we're working with the community to integrate some design changes. As we're planning our strategy with the school, neighbors, and funders, we're looking for input and ideas from our Wednesday lunch attendees to shape the first of many schools in the program.
Lunch and Learn is a weekly presentation forum conducted at the Architecture for Humanity San Francisco Headquarters. The goal of Lunch and Learn is to showcase Architecture for Humanity Projects from around the world and create a collaborative dialogue with individuals and organizations working to make a humanitarian impact through design.
