Visions and Voices: The USC Arts & Humanities Initiative
An architect and a landscape architect reveal the critical links between architectural design and humanitarian aid, education and health care.
Most of today’s positive design solutions focus on green design. Although issues such as efficiency and sustainability are critical, one can’t ignore equally pressing issues like humanitarian aid, education and health care. Often overlooked, nonprofit groups tend to take on the burden in areas where government agencies fail.
This event will feature presentations by landscape architect Lily Jencks from Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centres, and Cameron Sinclair, co-founder of Architecture for Humanity — representatives from two international nonprofit organizations that use design in exceptional and human ways.
A reception will follow.
