On March 11, Japan suffered what has been described as a 1000 year event. The earthquake and tsunami destroyed 400km of coastline, killing over 10,000 people, leaving 400,000 people homeless, and has triggered a nuclear situation that is still unfolding. In a call to response, please join us on April 16 and be a part of Global Pecha Kucha Day - Inspire Japan.

Here in San Francisco, we need your voice. As one of 400 Pecha Kucha cities from around the world, we are gathering presenters to share with us for this upcoming, worldwide event. 20x20 presentations will be focused around the theme of INSPIRATION for Japan through this difficult time. It could simply be about things that inspire us, or Japan and how it has inspired YOU. These will all be streamed live and then uploaded online to make a database of positive inspiration for Japan.

Proceeds from Inspire Japan will go directly to Architecture for Humanity, who Pecha Kucha supported last year with Global Pecha Kucha for Haiti. Architecture for Humanity will be co-organizing and co-hosting the event.
