There's been a trend in the video game community to stream themselves playing an entire game series for days at a time, interacting with anyone interested in watching and collecting money for charity from anyone entertained by it. This July, three separate teams will be collaborating to hold such an event for the benefit of Architecture for Humanity. They'll be playing through the Metroid series, one of Nintendo's longest running and most critically acclaimed series, in an informal competition to see who can finish the games fastest or most completely. In the process, they'll be collecting money for Architecture for Humanity, and offering prizes and other incentives to people that contribute!
This takes place starting 8PM Eastern time on July 8 and ends at least 48 hours later. For full details, go to www.gamemarathons.com/marathons/versus!
