Deadlines for Schematic Proposals (completed):
July 10, 2006
- Selected firms commit to participating in the program
- Design period begins
August 11, 2006
- Schematic proposal due. All digital materials must be received by Architecture for Humanity
August 18-20, 2006
- Design Review Weekend
A member of the partipating design teams must be present throughout the weekend to present their work and meet with applicants.
August 25, 2006
- Five design teams selected to construct model homes. If funding permits and as more applicants are accepted into the program, other designs will continue to be considered.
Pre-liminary Design Development and Pre-Construction Schedule:
Tentative schedule from selection of designers to project groundbreaking:
September – December 2006
- Client Meetings
- Meetings and Reviews with Engineers
- Design Development and Construction Documentation
- Bid and Permits Sets submitted (mid-November)
- Building Permits issued and Bids received (mid-December)
2007
- Groundbreaking of first house (mid-January)
- Subsequent groundbreakings will be staggered thereafter
- Certificate of Occupancy issued for first house (mid-August)
