Design Like You Give a Damn: LIVE!

4th annual Design Like You Give a Damn: LIVE!

Natural disasters are intensifying, displacing 26 millions of people worldwide each year. Leading environmental groups predict that by 2050 the number of climate change refugees will increase fivefold. Coupled with population shocks from increasing migration, urbanization and conflict as well as changing health patterns, the result is a silent but dangerous threat to the stability of cities. The design decisions that inform our built environment – from micro to macro – must tackle these issues in a proactive manner.

But how? What is the role of the designer in stewarding the built environment? And, how can we make citizens more aware of the steps they can take to protect their lives and livelihoods?

For 2013's Design Like You Give a Damn:LIVE! we'll bring together innovators and experts to explore issues around Designing for a more resilient world.
