Program Background:
The Sustainable Native Communities Collaborative, an initiative of Enterprise Community Partners, supports culturally and environmentally sustainable affordable housing appropriate to American Indian communities nationwide. We help to build capacity through building relationships, focusing on core values specific to each place and rooted in the spirit, the community and the land. Through technical assistance and research of best practices, we can help a community to reduce their impact on the natural world, gain self-sufficiency and provide solutions for culturally appropriate, healthy and affordable housing.

This program is in the process of creating two versions of a video (3 min and 12 min) to highlight the program. Footage has already been shot and is ready to be edited.

Program Description: Architecture for Humanity is seeking an intern who will lead the design process of a small sports center in Petrópolis, Brazil. The center will act as a sports and recreational hub for a community displaced by massive rains and floods in January 2011. This is a great opportunity for an emerging designer and social innovator to work in situ with the community, partners, and international architects on projects with international exposure.

The centers will act as hubs for programs that tackle social issues in the community. This is a great opportunity for an emerging designer to work with a local community, partners, and architects on projects with international exposure.

Description:
The Rebuilding Center in Port-au-Prince is looking for architects, engineers and builders who can donate at least 2 months to helping design and construct schools in Haiti, and assist in our Haitian professional outreach program. Volunteers stay at our Maison and work out of our office in Pétionville, and will be expected to do anything from schematic designs and CDs to materials research, documentation, site reports and more.
