Related program: Students Rebuild
Students Rebuild partners Global Nomads Group has been spending the past couple weeks in Haiti working closely with schools and Architecture for Humanity. But instead of swinging hammers, specifying materials or measuring sites, GNG has been organizing a series of video conferences between Haitian and North American high school students! The conferences, wrapping up this week, have been a tremendous opportunity for some fortunate schools participating in Students Rebuild to meet and interview their cross-cultural partners in school reconstruction, and are linked into a year-long reconstruction-themed curriculum developed for the program. Progress on GNG's trip are being frequently updated on the Students Rebuild Field Notes blog.
Students Rebuild helps teams of middle and high school students organize and raise money for school reconstruction efforts in Haiti. To date there are 110 from across 8 countries who have raised over $110,000, with numbers climbing. The first $2500 raised from every team is matched dollar-for-dollar by the Bezos Family Foundation.
