Futsala, aka street football, is temporarily turning car space into public space with the recent completion of two pitches. Another awesome example of what a little paint, a lot of creativity, and major inspiration can accomplish.
With a Gamechangers microgrant, our friends at the Buró de Intervenciones Públicas (BIP) in Guatemala City have been working tirelessly with community groups and public officials to install the first of many street football pitches planned for various low-income residential areas around the city.
But don't worry, we know that form follows parking. The goal posts can be moved and securely stored nearby to let the automobiles return to business and do what they do best. Brilliant!
