Congrats to Jens Holm of HAO, winner of the Manhattan Bridge Skatepark RFP, and co-conspirator Kay D. Vorderwuelbecke (don’t worry, we can’t pronounce it either) of VM Design Studio. As design consultants, they will work with our fearless team on the ground – Design Fellow Preeti Sodhi + Community Partner Steve Rodriguez – to reshape some of the non-skate obstacles at the periphery of the new skatepark.

These transformers will turn underused space and overused fences into…um, well, we’re not quite sure yet. But we like their vision, we like dogs and we love fun. Something we, and this park, could all use a little more of.
