Related program: Design Open Mic
During Architecture for Humanity's weekly Design Open Mic (April 18, 2012), Peter Cohen, from the Council of Community Housing Organizations, poses questions related to development, growth, and design. Peter presents that green development projects and smart growth development policy should have socially equitable benefits. The Council of Community Housing Organizations ask the question in their work: who benefits from the plans and policies and investments that drive green projects and smart growth development, and who potentially is negatively impacted or excluded from those benefits? In this video, Peter shares that it is not a simple or necessarily solvable tension, but it is a framework for deeper thinking about implications of "green" and "smart".
