Brace yourself San Francisco. It's time to register for the 4th annual Design Live You Give a Damn: LIVE! conference.
On November 7-9th, 2013, your favorite humanitarian design and resiliency conference is back for another round of innovative panel discussions, workshops, Design Open Mic**, and inspiring dose of industry networking. This years theme, Designing for a More Resilient World, will highlight the intensifying need to protect livelihood in a world which is continuously dealing with the aftereffects of issues like climate change, urbanization and population shock.
It all begins on the night of November 7th, where we will gather at the Contemporary Jewish Museum, a true architectural gem in the heart of one of San Francisco's most vibrant art districts, to celebrate the winning recipients of this year's Curry Stone Design Prize. This unprecedented partnership will kick off the three day conference with an evening of documentary films, mingling, light hors d'oeuvres, and specialty cocktails from our sponsors at Absolut. Adding the cherry to this ice cream sundae of an evening, the inaugural Vision Award will also be revealed.
With its soaring 65 foot ceilings and dramatically angled, cascading walls, this space is sure to host a compelling event.
Cue the morning of Friday, November 8th, where we will hit the ground running with a full day of presentation and interaction with some of the design world's most established minds, hosted again at the fabulous Autodesk Gallery.
Choose to sit and participate in our panel discussions and intimate workshops, or pop in and out of our four part Design Open Mic series to find yourself inspired by humanitarian and sustainable design efforts from all corners of the world. Somewhere in the middle, we'll give you a mental break, and then an opportunity to enjoy a lunch sponsored by the Curry Stone Design Prize while the previous night's winners dive deep into their engaging projects.
The all-day event draws to a close with our industry-renowned, not yet to be revealed, Keynote speaker, and the granting of prizes to our Design Open Mic challenge winner and finalists. And, of course, more damn, delicious Absolut cocktails and refreshments for all attendees.
The next day, November 9th, the innovation continues with speakers, conversation, and productive breakout sessions from Chapter members across the globe, presenting locally implemented projects at our Headquarters office. The annual Chapter Forum will close out the conference, talking about next steps in bringing resiliency to our 58 Chapters worldwide.
