Currently their production occurs in a small space in Sendai, making its capacity significantly less than what the main factory was able to provide previously. Baikado is working hard towards rebuilding their main factory by the end of the fiscal year.

The tsunami washed away their factory and office that they have worked hard to build over the years, as well as their equipment and tools. While they are determined to rebuild, their determination has been stalled due to financial difficulties. Because of their small business size, they have been disqualified for governmental grants, and have only received a small compensation from the city of Rikuzentakata. In order to purchase essential used equipment that they require at a minimum to resume their manufacturing process, the owner has been forced to use his personal savings, and has been outsourcing many items. Sasaki Tekko is working hard to figure out ways to get back on their feet.

Yamayo Suisan lost his factory in the tsunami. He made a decision to rebuild his business after a year of deliberation, carefully considering the massive commitment this would take. In striving to rebuild, the owner has developed a new distribution system using the internet, rather than solely selling to a conventional market, and in doing so, has come up with innovative ideas to still maintain the "face-to-face" experience. While the oysters grow, buyers get frequent updates on their growth, and he is also considering creating opportunities for buyers to go to the factory for a hands on experience in oyster farming. This direct sale to consumer gives him more profit.
