Construction starts on the next Football for Hope centres

Video: On-the-ground Update from Haiti

April 15, 2010 - Film of a camp school in Port au Prince, Haiti as camp is being cleared and students are displaced. The Architecture for Humanity team on the ground is speaking with teachers to find better accomodations for the students. Architecture for Humanity has partnered with the Bezos Foundation to create a competition to encourage student-led initiatives to fundraise for schools like this. Check out Students Rebuild.

Haiti team: housed!

Late last week found our Haiti team unpacking their belongings into what will be home for the next several years. The house, located just outside the Pétionville neighborhood of Port-au-Prince, is large–comprising several bedrooms, bathrooms and living spaces, an office, and spacious yard and driveway. The team intends to share these facilities with partners in the reconstruction effort, making the house effectively a live/work center of 20 people operating the initial Architecture for Humanity Haiti Design Center!

Architecture for Humanity announces new spokesanimal

Tokyo, Japan -- On April 6, 2010 non-profit Architecture for Humanity will be starting its eleventh year bringing design, construction and development services to communities in need. In celebration of this milestone, and to raise awareness of the organizations' impact, Architecture for Humanity is partnering with the South Florida Aquarium to co-host a 12 month tour for the organizations' newly adopted mascot, Hugh Manatee.
