Students Rebuild : $500K Matching Grant to Rebuild Schools in Haiti

In response to the devastating earthquake in Haiti, Architecture for Humanity, the Bezos Family Foundation and Global Nomads Group have partnered to create “www.studentsrebuild.org,” a $500,000 matching challenge grant and call to action for middle and high school students and educators around the globe to help rebuild better, safer schools in Haiti.

Students: Create teams that raise funds and partner in the sustained reconstruction effort. Through interactive video, conversations with building professionals and live connections to Haitian students, you’ll learn first-hand how people can rebuild communities and lives.

IDEO presentation at SPUR 'Classroom of the Future' Exhibition

Join us for a special 'Classroom of the Future' lunch presentation at 12:30 Wednesday, February 10th at SPUR gallery - located at 654 Mission Street. IDEO, San Francisco, a winner of the 2009 Open Architecture Challenge: Classrom, will present their design for a school in a low-income neighborhood in Hyderabad, India. The exhibition is open through February 26th for viewing.

Rebuilding After Disaster: The Biloxi Model Home Program documents the rebuilding effort of a coalition of partners in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.

We would like to thank all of the families, architects, engineers, construction professionals, volunteers, supporters, and sponsors of the Biloxi Model Home Program. This book is dedicated to them and all the residents of East Biloxi, Mississippi, whose love for the community made this work possible.
