Sustainable Design
For us sustainability is about more than building green. We think about how a building will affect the environment, how it will improve the lives and livelihoods of its occupants, and its impact on future generations, including its vulnerability to disaster.

Community members earn income by building transitional schools by Design Fellow Jason Anderson in the wake of the Tsunami. Diagonally laid subflooring in a house designed by MC2 Architects for a family displaced by Hurricane Katrina provides lateral strength to protect the house from future hurricanes. |
Knowledge Sharing
We believe that sustainable design solutions and resources should be accessible to all. To help design professionals share their knowledge we created the Open Architecture Network. The Open Architecture Network is an online community developed by Architecture for Humanity to provide open source access to design solutions. |
