Hello from Talara, Perú!
I want to share with you this video taken just before finishing the model-making workshop with the students of the Santa Elena de Piedritas school in Talara.
The video shows one of the students (Bryan, 11 years old) explaining the design of the new building. The model was made during a 5-week workshop by the students and teachers. The model is now finished, and the kids are happy and very proud of themselves, and everyone (myself included) has learned a lot! The model will now stay at the school and display the future project to the students, teachers and community at large during the construction process.

Santa Elena de Piedritas is part of the Enel Cuore Community Empowerment Program, a partnership between Enel Cuore and Architecture for Humanity that is harnessing the power of innovative design to build infrastructure in 7 communities across 7 countries. The project in Peru will provide new facilities for this remote and arid area's only school.
A questionnaire filled in by the kids after the workshop: lessons learned about the built environment!
The proud model making team on the final day.
