Another Football for Hope center is complete, and now the children of Cape Verde, too, have gained a safe place for sports, education, health and the arts.

While the Tarrafal Football for Hope Center successfully held an opening ceremony in early August, the project still needed some finishing touches before the Center Host could move in. Delta Cultura Cabo Verde (DCCV) can now enjoy the wonderful views of the Atlantic ocean while serving as hub to the entire community.

We send our warmest thanks and a major thumbs up to the entire team who made this possible, not to mention a big round of applause for our Design Fellows, Ana Reis and Ana Ramos, for designing and managing the construction of such a beautiful project.

As a legacy of the 2010 Football World Cup, FIFA and streetfootballworld launched the Football for Hope program, with the aim of building 20 centers across Africa. The centers are managed by local NGOs, each having a specific program. All centers address health and education issues using soccer as a tool for development.
