Finally, the dust has settled following an incredible Design Like You Give a Damn: LIVE! event this year. Everyone – from our 35 panelists and speakers to event organizers – played their part, making this year’s event one of the most creative and inspiring to date.

This year’s Design Like You Give a Damn: LIVE! event was a huge success, and it wouldn’t have been possible without our esteemed partners and hosts at Dwell Media.

Last but not least, the sixth group to be given the floor tomorrow at this year’s Design Open Mic will all present projects that involve the innovative use of materials, or embody a sustainable approach to promote social wellbeing.

Many of our special guest speakers emphasized the importance of creating resilient environments to benefit the health and education of everyone within communities.

The fourth theme for the much-anticipated Design Open Mic on Saturday is one that is at the very core of Architecture for Humanity’s work – architectural solutions to aid disaster recovery.

Due up at the mic at 1:50pm this Saturday, the third group of fast-paced presentations are highly varied, but all possess an interesting political context that has influenced their proposals.

Stepping up to the mic at 1:00pm this Saturday, our second round of five finalists present projects that embrace community engagement as a catalyst for idea generation and positive social change.
