First and foremost, I want to say thank you: this year, more than 16,000 students have walked into brand new, freshly painted, beautifully designed classrooms because of your support. Providing access to education has an extraordinary impact for entire communities – it helps to eradicate poverty, drive civic participation and promote gender equality.

Last week, our Santa Elena de Piedritas School in Peru was selected as one of the 30 winners to be showcased in the Architectural IberoAmerican Biennale (BIAU, Bienal Iberoamericana de Arquitectura y Urbanismo)!

A few miles from the Pacific Ocean just south of Ecuador, the small town of Piedritas, Peru just created a new home for its one hundred students. What happened in Piedritas was not merely construction but an exploration of engagement, empowerment, fun, and inspiration, all through the process of making a building.
